Edward, orphan of Mansfield Hatfield, bound to George Mallow, Jr. learn trade of weaver,
July 25, 1786.
George Mallow, Jr. was an elder in the Peaked Mountain Church (Luthern Reformed).
Record of Edward's binding out, and marriage to JULIAN REED from Rockingham County, VA court records. Baptisimal of ISAAC HATFIELD from Peaked Mt. Church records;
verified by Suzanne Glendening.
The census of 1790 shows no Hatfields as the head of household. As the only Edward known in Rockingham County, VA up to at least 1850, was the orphan of Mansfield, it must be presumed that the same Edward that baptizes Isaac is the son of Mansfield as George Mallow was a sponsor of the baptizim. In addition as the age is right, the Edward that marries Juliet Reed is the same Edward that appears in the 1810 census with 4 boys under the age of 10 and the father of Isaac.

Mike and Sue Glendening -- Abraham, son of Edward, came to Ohio before his father. Edward, and his brother Jacob arrived in Fairfield Co. circa 1825.
